How to Check the Hospital, Doctor & Final Price
For plastic surgery in Korea, the hospital’s popularity matters less than the doctor who will actually operate and the plan made for your case. Confirm the clinic’s official name, address, doctor’s name, specialty, and the exact procedure being proposed.
A coordinator may explain schedules and prices, but the operating doctor should explain the method, expected limits, major risks, anesthesia, and recovery. Ask whether the doctor you meet during consultation is the same doctor who will perform the surgery.
What should the written estimate include?
Ask whether the final amount includes the doctor’s fee, preoperative tests, anesthesia, implants or medical materials, medication, dressings, compression garments, recovery-room or hospital stay, stitch removal, postoperative visits, tax, and any possible additional treatment.
If several operations are suggested together, ask for the purpose, risk, recovery time, and price of each one separately. Do not expand the surgical plan only because a package discount expires that day.

Recovery, Travel Timing & Aftercare
Korean plastic surgery does not end when the operation is over. Dressing changes, drain removal, stitch removal, and follow-up visits may be necessary. Your travel schedule should be built around medical recovery—not the other way around.
The required stay in Korea depends on the procedure, anesthesia, surgical range, and individual recovery. Do not book a return flight based only on a general recovery time found online. Ask the operating doctor when you need to return to the clinic and when flying is medically appropriate.
Choose accommodation for access and recovery rather than price alone. Check the distance from the clinic, elevator access, bathroom convenience, food delivery, and whether you can store medication or cold packs. Leave buffer days after the final planned appointment in case another check is needed.
Before leaving Korea, request an English medical summary, operation record, test results, prescription, itemized bill, and details of any implant or material used. These documents can be essential if you later need care in your home country.
